This is where vision meets the reality of the floor. We aren’t starting with engineering degrees; we’re earning our skills through every bolt turned and every challenge solved. Facility 01 is the documentation of the learning curve—where we bridge the gap between "I've never done this" and "It’s done."
The '88 Fiero currently runs, but the 40-year-old powertrain is a bottleneck. Rebuilding an obsolete platform fails the Integrity Test. Instead of fighting for rare parts for a "tired" engine, we are engineering a resurrection with a modern, high-performance heart.
Every honest build is willing to change the plan. Our original vision involved the GM 3.9L LZ9, but technical specs showed it didn't meet the Shop Standard. We needed a platform that was lighter, more supported, and capable of scaling.
Drawback: Significant rear weight bias.
Drawback: Limited & expensive aftermarket support.
Drawback: Hard-capped power ceiling without forced induction.
Benefit: Retains signature Fiero exhaust note.
Advantage: Lightweight all-aluminum design for better balance.
Advantage: Massive community & tuner support.
Advantage: Built for forced induction; iconic supercharger whine.
Goal: A smarter, more balanced machine that bridges the gap between mechanical work and digital "Lab" goals.
The decision to swap in the Supercharged 2.0L LSJ isn't just about the power (though the power is excellent). It’s about building a smarter, more balanced machine.
By transitioning to a modern Ecotec platform, we gain access to a world of performance parts, better weight distribution, and a modern ECU that bridges the gap between our mechanical work and our digital "Lab" goals.
